- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions
Now that you have all the ingredients, let's start cooking.- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and fry until they are golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and fry for a minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until they are soft and mushy.
- Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder, and fry for a minute.
- Add the chicken pieces and fry until they are lightly browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped green chillies and salt to taste, and mix well.
- Add a cup of water and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken cook for 25-30 minutes or until it is tender.
- Remove the lid and let the curry simmer for a few more minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
