Vietnamese Braised Pork Recipe

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:- 1 lb. pork shoulder
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons of water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cut the pork shoulder into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the garlic, ginger, brown sugar, fish sauce, and soy sauce.
- Add the pork to the bowl and toss to coat with the marinade. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it becomes translucent.
- Add the marinated pork to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes until it's browned on all sides.

- Add the cornstarch mixture to the pot and stir to combine.
- Simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
