For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:- 4 duck legs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tbsp thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. Season the duck legs with salt and pepper. 3. Heat the olive oil in a large, oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. 4. Add the duck legs to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until browned. 5. Remove the duck legs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate. 6. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. 7. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. 8. Pour in the red wine and chicken stock, then stir in the tomato paste, bay leaf, and thyme leaves. 9. Return the duck legs to the skillet, skin-side up, and spoon the sauce over them. 10. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the oven. 11. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the lid or foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the duck legs are crispy and golden brown. 12.
