- Add the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom pods. Fry for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Fry until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the garam masala and turmeric powder. Fry for a few seconds.
